Unsupported Systems

The following systems do not use MIPS processors (so do not run Linux/MIPS), but are sometimes incorrectly believed to be MIPS-based:

  • IBM . Frequently assumed to be a MIPS system because of the similarity to the name of the R6000 processor. The RS/6000 series of workstations is based on the architecture, and as such you probably want to check out the .
  • . There are a few i386-based variants. Latest models are based on Intel's .
  • SGI Iris 1000 / 2000 / 3000 series systems. These are very old systems from the late 80's based on the architecture. As such they're subject of the . Have also a look @ .
